Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick, honest answers to the questions participants, families, and support coordinators ask most.

Across eligible services, CCSS can work with NDIA-managed (Agency-managed), plan-managed and self-managed participants, subject to the service, registration requirements and applicable NDIS funding rules. Funding-management availability must be checked for the specific service; Support Coordination has its own current claiming and plan-management requirements.

No. Participants and families can contact CCSS directly. Referrals are also welcomed from Support Coordinators, Recovery Coaches, allied health professionals, hospitals, guardians and other organisations.

Participant choice is important. Matching should consider personality, interests, communication, skills, experience, availability and participant preferences.

Tell CCSS. Not every personality is the right match; concerns should be heard and a more suitable match explored where possible.

CCSS aims to build a core team and maintain familiar, consistent supports wherever possible.

CCSS can provide relevant service documentation and evidence where appropriate, but funding decisions are made by the NDIA.

Supported Independent Living generally refers to the supports provided to help a participant live in their home.

Specialist Disability Accommodation relates to specialist housing for eligible participants. CCSS is a registered SDA provider and is developing its future property offering.

Short-Term Accommodation is a short-term stay away from a participant’s usual home where funded and appropriate.

Medium-Term Accommodation is temporary accommodation for eligible participants while waiting for a longer-term disability-related housing solution.

Individualised Living Options explores flexible living and support arrangements designed around the individual rather than one fixed model.

Yes. Support Coordination has its own dedicated enquiry and referral pathway.

CCSS currently supports participants across Logan, Brisbane, Ipswich/Springfield and the Gold Coast, subject to service type, staffing and availability.

CCSS welcomes feedback and complaints. Raising a concern should not affect a participant’s right to respectful, quality support.

Participants should raise safety concerns immediately. For an immediate threat to safety or a medical emergency, call 000.

CCSS first takes time to understand the participant, their goals, support needs, preferences, risks, routines and the people important to them. Service matching and planning occur before supports commence so the arrangement is safe, realistic and person-centred.

Workers are recruited and matched with attention to experience, communication, professionalism and the needs of the participant. Required training, competencies and participant-specific guidance should be completed before a worker performs tasks that require them.

Yes, where the participant wants this and appropriate consent or decision-making arrangements are in place. CCSS values respectful collaboration with families, carers, guardians and other members of the participant’s support network.

Communication should be clear, respectful and suited to the participant and their support network. The exact communication pathway may vary by service, but participants should know who to contact and how important information will be shared.

CCSS collects, uses, stores and shares personal information in line with applicable privacy obligations, participant consent and organisational policies. For full details, please review our approved Privacy Policy.

Pricing depends on the service, support requirements, timing and the participant’s funding arrangements. CCSS provides clear information about applicable rates and service agreement terms before supports commence.

Participants, families and professionals can use our Make a Referral pathway. CCSS will review the information, contact the referrer or participant, discuss needs and capacity, and be transparent about whether the service is a suitable fit.

CCSS supports people with complex needs where the organisation has the appropriate capacity, trained workers, participant-specific information and required safeguards. Each referral is assessed individually.
